• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

carrier-based AI traffic?

I read this in some review or advertisement online... and I wonder if that last phrase is accurate.....

MyTraffic X 5.1 comes bundled with MyTraffic 2006 version 4.1, the ultimate version of the award winning series of MyTraffic versions for FS9, superior to all other packages in quantity, quality and most important performance. Featuring 166 aircraft series with more than 3100 paints on 6500+ airports, all kind of traffic can be found, even traffic on aircraft carriers.

Is this true? Will this software allow AI flights to launch and recover from aircraft carriers?

Hi Folks

Is this true?
Will this software allow AI flights to launch and recover from aircraft carriers?
Ripcord -
It's referring to the FS9 version,
i.e. pre-placed scenery-object carriers.

OK next question.

I see that some mission builders have used the 'flight record' method to save their flights and assign to AI aircraft, so that they will take off the aircraft carrier in missions.

I have also seen a demo method for assigning an AI aircraft to follow other AI or follow the player -- I think Jim K did this in his SIM VAR mission system extension, using his FSX Mission Editor software, where you fly a Mooney around West Cairo.

What I am hoping to do is somehow combine the two. I'd like to use the 'flight record' method to get an AI jet launched off the deck of a carrier and out to wp 1.... And at that point, I want to have it follow a WP or using a proximity trigger, follow the player.

Is it possible to use both methods for the same AI aircraft in a mission?
