• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Yes, today is a big day. I have got two new version of CAT for you. This post gives some background about these new uploads.

CAT v0.92 beta

The first new version is an updated beta. Version 0.92 beta should be seen as the release candidate for CAT v1.00. A lot of improvements over version 0.91 beta have been added, these are listed below:

  • Complex linked animations now working correct
  • Option to analyse secondairy condition files for correct number of frames and animations
  • Ability to save and restore settings
  • Increased the maximum amount of secondairy conditions
  • Increased the maximum number of keyframes in an animation from 256 to 1025
  • Store the state in local variables again
  • Compile button working and result of compilation shown in CAT
  • Move all file selection boxes
  • Show file numbers on GUI
  • Multiple animation conditions

With all these changes included I think every animation made in the Fs2004 GMax should now work. This beta version is then also a last test before v1.00 will be there.

One note is that the manual of this beta version has not yet been updated. Version 1.00 will come with a completely new and more detailed manual.

There is one other change to version 0.92 beta. It no longer supports working with Fs2002 source files. Therefore a standalone version with the Fs2002 functionality is available as well now. Basically this version is equal to v0.81 beta.

As Fs2004 is the future I will no longer add new features to the Fs2002 version, but if critical bugs appear I will try to fix them of course.

You can download both version from the usual download thread.
Ok, the first bug has been reported. There were problems with filenames that already contained underscores (_). This has been fixed in version 0.93 beta now available for download.
