• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

As you may have seen we seem to be getting spammed by a Chinese member or bot. We are aware of the issue but appreciate you reporting anything that you see. We are looking at whether this is a member using the regular join route or a bot of some sort

It seems like you would want to catch them using a filter that immediately blocks any postings for any user whatsoever, if they post more than three messages within the course of 15 seconds, pending administrative review. If something like that existed or could be invented, it would stop them dead in their tracks, with little inconvenience to all but the most impetuous members.

What frightened me was the number of views they got. Really!? Some people actually clicked on them!

There is a check in the forum already that you can't post new messages within 30 seconds. But I guess an automated bot is smart enough to just wait long enough to work around that.

It is likely that everything had been automated, including page clicks.

Bot wars? Are you implying that unnamed spammers using a language that appears to be Chinese, can write smarter spam bots, than FSDeveloper can write forum rules enforcement bots?

If new posters were forced to endure the delay and promise of a manual physical review, before any content was posted, how many bot spammers would wait around to find out if the review threat was a bluff, or would configure their software to post meaningful messages about flight simming, before launching into spam attacks?
