• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

I wonder if the cockpit layout in the FSX Deluxe Edition are
exactly the same as in the real airplanes.

Or are some instruments left out in the Flight Simulator.
In particular for Airbus A321,Boeing 737 and Boeing 747 .

Does anybody know ?

Follow up question to cockpit layout

I read that there are expansion packs,adds-ons etc to Flight
SimulatorX software.( I assume they have to be purchased )

Could I get a more realistic cockpit layout then what is called
the default for a particular airplane ?
By realistic I mean like looking like the real thing.
What do and can these expansion packs improve ?
Being new to this I have little knowledge.
Tks

Hi,

Yes, you can get different addons, both freeware and payware. Some of them will indeed model the cockpit and the instrumentation in a lot of detail. For really high detail you will have to look at some of the payware aircraft available.

They are extremely simplified from the real deal...

2D cockpits are modified and simplified to fit more gauges. The VC's are very close. The more simple planes may be more accurate. The 172 VC is pretty much spot on in my opinion. I have never flown one with the Garmin 1000 So I wouldnt know about those.
