Coordinates in FSX / difference to real world?

Hi everybody.
I am a scenery newbie.
I just started to redesign my home airport EDDS.
Gate 09 has in Google the coordinates N048°41'19.330'' E009° 11' 31.580''
I converted this to N 048.688703° E009.192106°
I made a small box 1mx1mx0,1m as library object and placed it on this coordinates.
When I place in FSX a small aircraft (aircreation ultra light) with the red cross, indicating the center exactly on top of the box FSX shows the coordinates N 48° 41.32' E 9° 11.53'

When I compare 048°41' 19.330 from Google with 48° 41.32' from FSX this is a big difference.
My conversion from Google coordinates to decimal degrees seems correct, I counter checked with a conversion tool from fcc.gov.

Has anybody an idea what is wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help

Stefan

Hi,

N48° 41' 19.330'' == N48° 41.3221667 == N48.48.68870278

So they are three notations for the same coordinates. FS is using the middle notation. So I don't think there is anything wrong.

Hi Arno,

thanks again for the quick answer. You are right, I made a error in my calculation.

best regards

Stefan
