• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Copying a virtual cockpit to another plane

Hi folks,

I am working with am Airbus A320 that has been ported from FS2004 to FSX quite "dirty". I have managed to fix some gauge and Comm issues that were fairly apparent. Now I would like to copy the V/C of the standard A321 to the A320 (the 2D panel is the same anyway). I tried to copy the Airbus_A321_interior.mdl to the corresponding A320 folder and added

interior=Airbus_A321_interior

to the model.cfg. But this only results in the whole aircraft vanishing. The only thing left to see are the blinking lights. Can someone tell me why this is happening, what I am doing wrong, how I can do it right - or that it won't work at all. :cool:

Tia,

As has been stated here any number of times already, you cannot do what you're attempting.

FS9 models are a completely different compiled format than the new, FSX models.

You can only mix-and-match exterior and interior FSX models, period. :teacher:

:o OK. Clear statement. As for the "any number of times": I have searched the forum for post on that subject, but didn't find any. Maybe I was looking for the wrong words. Anyway, please accept my apologies for asking a fpaq. :duck:

Maybe you should make that post "sticky". ;)
