• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Could anyone help me how to fix this

Could anyone help me how to fix this ? As shown in the picture attached. The coast line elevation edge is aligned too bad in the default FSX. How can I step by step using FSX_KML or else fix this problem ?

Do you have FSX SP1 installed?

I only ask because I thought Microsoft had made the high slope water go to water, rather than rock, as it did in FSX RTM.

So are you wanting to get rid of the rock? Is that a taxiway? What elevation is it in the real world? What exactly are you wanting to do here?

You do know that taxiways and runways have a built-in flatten property in FSX. This means that your best bet for eliminating the slope (if that is what you want to do) would be to make the elevation of your taxiway/runway pretty close to the elevation of the water.

Alternatively, you could raise the elevation of your water to match. I would do that by first excluding the default water polygon (using FSX_KML) and then add a new water polygon back in at a slightly higher elevation.

I found that some ponds I made for my falklands scenery still had 'rocks' in them even after SP1.

I also managed to scupper flattening them to a specific height (prob by using the wrong water tag).

So sorry, can only 'help' by confirming that I have seen that behavious post sp1.

Thanks for the replies. Well, I have tried to exclude_waterpoly, it is ok, there is no slope and the area is flattened, but only after I add back the Hydro_ocean_pennial...(sth like that), the slope appears again, I cannot flatten nor move the slope, because in the real world, the slope is much closer to the taxiway, what I actually want to do is moving it much closer to the taxiway.
I have FSX SP1 installed, could anyone has any suggestion ?

The problem you have there, is that the taxiways have a flatten property built-into them.

A workaround I can think of, is to use gmax to create the slope/raised area right next to the taxiway, as it is in real life. This, however, is something that I have not done...yet.

You would need to not use a "standard" taxiway and instead use your gmax-created taxiway. Theory only. I am sure others have done it though.

I have encountered the same situation (needing more precision on a slope next to a taxiway or runway) and my solution is only proposed. When I get more time I plan to try it out with gmax.
