• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Custom buildings not appearing

I've been having some problems with FSX freeware addon airports not working properly in P3D. This problem occurs with simple AFCAD updates that have custom buildings associated with them. Everything shows up fine, but the buildings do not. How can I fix this? Two examples of airports where this occurs is KCMH by Sidney Schwartz/ Timothy Thomas. (http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=44511676) and KGRB by AIG (http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=44511686). Both of these airports worked fine for me in FSX.
 
Hi...

I noticed the similar issue with default airports and asked the same question - the response was that many of the buildings are controlled by the density slider - are you running them maxed and then looking at the airports in question ? I haven't had a chance to verify myself yet - but - recently moving from FS9 with sliders maxed - to P3D where not so much - it seemed logical...

Just tried putting all my sliders to the right and it didn't help unfortunately.
 
Where the scenery items in question made for FS9 or FSX? and do they use any ASM code?

The reason for the above questioning is a lot of FS9 buildings no longer show up in P3D (and havne't since about 2.3) as most used FS98 BGL hacks in them for certain items. FSX 'native' buildings should, but a lot of scenery made for FSX didn't leave things 'native' they added BGL hacks over the top to access Assembly level options that no longer exist.

If you can get permission from the original authors a recompile of the BGL library using the P3D SDK will fix the issues or should.
