• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Skethup has not night textures for the default textures. Where it is possible to find these? Or, if we build these by ourself, what is the best way to do?
Somebody can isuggest some tutorial on this subject? I have not found it.
Thanks for suggestions denic

You can create a night texture for your daytime one by making a darker texture the same name and adding "_LM" at the end of the filename, but before the file extension.

It's best not to use the Sketchup default textures. If you can't create the textures yourself, try photos from the web. Then for night, darken and name as suggested, then add them in ModelConverterX when you convert the model. Lots of previous forum threads and tutorials in the wiki.

Dont know why this is, as I have not encountered any issues unless using default transparent textures. The other textures are fine.

To make your own, paint.net and GIMP are good free paintshop programs. THere are other pay-for programs that are good too.
All have their learning curve.

What issues are you having with the transparent textures? I haven't found any -yet!

With sketchup and of course Model convertex you can do anyting, about transparencies maybe you are not setting the correct opacity. If I remember well the default transparencies worked.

Couple of issues with the way FSX displayed the transparency colors and levels. It could have been a fluke or how I was converting them, its been a few months since I've used default SU8 transparency in FSX. I typically make all my textures in Paint.net or Gimp now.
