• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi all!

Dieter Kreiskott, the programmer and, more recently, scenery designer, is currently working on a contemporary implementation of the airport Hamburg Finkenwerder (EDHI).

The airport is of great importance for international aviation because Airbus production in Germany also takes place on the factory grounds of Airbus Operations GmbH. Dieter asked me to present his project here in the FSDeveloper forum. The development of his project is documented in the German-speaking part of the ORBX Forum.

Kreiskott gets strong support in his project - once again the community idea is lived :)

Here are some recent pictures ...

Best Regards

Gerry

PS: I´m also working on EDHI --> For pictures please search for EDHI in this forum.

Hi.

The Finkenwerder project is making great progress. Here are some more pictures directly from the developer.

Dieter Kreiskott: "So, first revision of a model which I already had. The doors are now as they actually are really and I have, if somewhat overprinted, no more a flat area taken but the gates really laid one behind the other and also immediately begun to bring the building numbers with."

Still in Sketchup, since it is not finished, but times as a view where I want to go. I hope you like it.

Hi!

A small info update

The airport is now also suitable for P3Dv4 and was equipped with dynamic lights. If you would like to test the EDHI Finkenwerder airport already, Kreiskott has provided a download link. But please keep in mind that the airport is still a construction site. Here is the link to the download, but please log in before the ORBX forum!

Looking very good, Christian!
I just miss a groundpoly for the taxiway and runway textures. However it looks very complex to do for EDHI.

Hello Thomas.

Thanks for your kind words, Dieter will be very happy :)
What do you mean "I just miss a groundpoly for the taxiway and runway textures?
It is a resample aerial imagery.

You're welcome! :) Chris don't you remember me? :D We skyped a lot regarding photoscenery creation and else last year. You helped me a lot to create some own work which I will show here in the forums in a few weeks.

I mean modelled asphalt and concrete textures for the runway and taxiways.

Hello Thomas.

How could I forget such a talented developer like you! The scenery you showed at the time looked very professional. Something like this is hard to forget :)

The project Finkenwerder is by Dieter Kreiskott, it is its first scenery. Textured ground polygons are a fine thing, but you know how something goes. And to learn this takes time, and the developer is just using the buildings and objects in Finkenwerder.

Thank you for the nice words! :) As I said there is something nice to show you and the community soon.
I know, I know. EDHI is also not the easiest to start in developing airports...
However I wish you and him the best of luck for this project!

Looks so beautifull... but sad, it won't be supporting the good old FS9, since we haven't had any good rendition of Finkenwerder, for the old one... but keep it up and comming.
Wondering how the fully finished work looks. :D

For our friends of the FS9 it looks currently not so good. But this can only be decided by the developer himself. I can not give an answer at this time :)
