i used CAT2k2 for the .asm created with makemdl2002. Today i downloaded the CAT 1.2 and i obtained a_cat.asm, a_cat_0.asm and a.bgl files with the .asm created with makemdl2004 (the same gmax file)
ok y can't found these lines

IFIN1 lbl_end, usrvr4, 27, 35
; code only to be displayed for the selected aircraft
lbl_end label word

IFMSK lbl_end, usrvr5, 1
; code only to be displayed when condition is true
lbl_end label word

How i do? where i put these lines? in the CAT asm?

Hi,

When using FS2004 gamepack you better use the FS2004 version of CAT indeed. This will tweak your FS2004 ASM files and create a new MDL file for you.

Where to put such lines depends on what you want. You are supposed to put it around the code that should follow this condition, but that is not a fixed place. It all depends on the effects you want. So which part of your object or animation should be affected?

these .asm files are a simple rotating cube, really i want to move my jetways when i put the parking brakes i created the cube for practice, but i don't know where i should put the lines. I wan't to move my jetway when i set parking brakes with the MD 83 i think the usrvr4 is 18 to 20. Can i help me? this is my first animated thing hehe. Thanks Arno for your help:)

Hi,

What you can then best do is just use CAT to set the trigger to the parking brake. By default CAT will use the IFIN1 command, which you will have to manually replace with the IFMSK command as explained in the manual you are referring to.

Hi Arno thanks for your help, but i some newbie in this. This is my first proyect hehe. Ok i have created and tested my jetway in FS and this works perfectly, but i don't understand in the actigate tutorial where i should put the lines. Can you edit my .ASM Files? Thanks and i'm sorry for my problems:)
I've animated my gates in gmax

Here are my .asm files http://rapidshare.com/files/254762613/Manga10.zip

Thanks for all Arno:)

OK, I'll take a look. But I think I will only have time tomorrow for it.

Glad to hear that, I did not yet have the time to test it :).

Hi guys.

My problem is similar to the following and facing the author of this post. I have read the forum and I have no solution for my problem.
I tell them I designed a hangar with Gmax and encouraged the doors, each with the name tick18_box02 and box03, exported it as a stage. Mdl, moving step by step tutorial I found on the web. later opened the CAT and enter the information requested. The problem is in compiling. Mdl where an error identical to that noted in the first post of this topic. I understand that is due to makemdl who used it was for FS2002. Well I replaced it with makemdl FS2004 and the problem persists. No longer do and my desire is to see a hangar where it can control the animation of doors with the NAV1 or 2.
I hope I can help with this problem.

Greetings from Chile.

Excuse my English.

Juan

Hi Juan,

Did you check if the doors animate correctly in FS before you use CAT? It is always good to check if the animation runs without the conditions.

If you are using CAT then you should use the FS2004 gamepack and MakeMDL. Only when you use CAT2k2 (the FS2002 version) should you use the FS2002 gamepack and MakeMDL.

Thanks Arno.

The animations are perfect in Gmax. Then I will update the makemdl.

Greetings and thanks

Hi,

But did you also check them in FS before using CAT? The fact that they show in GMax does not mean they will also work in FS.

Cat FS2004 Animation Problem

Hi,

But did you also check them in FS before using CAT? The fact that they show in GMax does not mean they will also work in FS.

Arno,

I am having the same problem when trying to add a triiger using cat. per some of the questions asked here I did test my jetway animations in FS and they don't show but are working in Gmax, I have read the tutorial on animating also watched the vidieos available here to animate followed every step works and looks good in gmax but does not work in FS2004. I am wondering if I missed a step some where maybe I could send you my gmax file and you could look at it just to tell me if I'm on the right track as this is my first animation project. Here is my cat error code. below maybe this is showing whats happening.

Hi Donald,

If the animations don't show before you use CAT on the MDL, then that is the problem. If you fix that, there will be no error either.

Are you sure that you named the animation object correctly? Starting with tick18_

Hi,

No, textures have nothing to do with this error. Maybe a good attempt to let every animated part start with tick18_?

hey arno

I did rename all objects to tick18_ and now cat makes the .mdl file with out the error but when I compile to bgl using EZ-Scenery and place the object nothing the animation is just not working not sure why as it works in gmax?
