• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

In my opinion some questions keep arising over and over, especially in the scenery design forum: - ground polys, mirroring bugs, exporting (regional settings) etc.
I think it would be a great idea to put a FAQ page as a sticky page / sticky pages at the top of these fora ?? / forums.
What do you think about it? Would it be a great idea or is it just some chimera of me?

Basically a sticky post is a desperate attempt to make a forum do something a Wiki does a lot better - retain information. :)

So if this is done in a way to highlight the relevant wiki pages (or maybe simply the fact that the wiki exist if some people have not moved beyond forums yet) to the user I am all for it. If the result is copying content belonging in the wiki into the forum where it can't easily be updated then I would find it a very bad idea.

I think linking to the wiki would be a great idea. Most people don't even recognize it, like you've already said.
Another problem with the wiki is, that it is not linked on top of the site eg under the fsdeveloper logo or somwhere there. You only get the navigation table on the frontpage.

We are working on a better integration of the forum and Wiki (but unfortunately that is taking a lot of time to complete already). So that should improve that part a bit, but of course people still have to "submit" the knowledge to the Wiki itself.
