• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FinneyGround Crosshair Plus Chashes in P3Dv 4

Hi,
I have the FinneyGround Crosshair Plus installed in FSX and works fine. But when I run it in P3D, it immediately crashes. I've ran it many times in P3D and has ran fine. So, why is it crashing now? Is it because of Windows 10?

Hi Ken:

Please explain exactly what type of "crashes" occurred when you attempted to use FinneyGround Crosshairs Plus (aka "CH+") in Win-10 ? :scratchch

Hi Gary,

I took this as though the simulator was crashing but that was not the case. It said "Crash" on the screen and I didn't think about the crashing objects detect that's built into the sim. The "Crash" detect was turned on, or checked, and that was the cause of the crash I was getting. And the sim didn't simply close out. It reloaded the default airport and aircraft, and that should have told me that this was the case. I turned off, or unchecked the "Crash" detect in the sim and FinneyGround works fine now. But it was strange to me why it was crashing, and I've noticed how the crosshair showed a crash effect as though it was falling to the ground.

Oh, by the way, the Texture folder has a texture file but when I open it, it doesn't open the bitmap. I've noticed that there's no preview in the sim. Is there a reason for that? It's no big deal but I was just curious.

Hi Ken:

CH+ is primarily intended to be used for building scenery in Slew mode, but is also a fly-able version of the FS9 "Jet-Pak Man" aircraft with a differenti visual 3D model and Gauges. ;)

The CH+ *.BMP Texture is a FS9 DXT format which may not be displayed by 'all' graphics applications.
