Hi again:
Technically one 'should' be able to make a AB CVX vector flatten polygon with assigned elevations for its vertices, compile it to a BGL, and have it modify the local terrain mesh display.
However, Hydro polys in FSX now use assigned elevations for vertices, and along with underlying default and/or 3rd party terrain mesh, may fail to display smaller higher resolution tiles of mesh data or CVX vector flatten data, because the run time rendering engine refuses to acknowledge and adapt to local terrain mesh modifications after having already encountered a terrain mesh BGL that covers a larger LOD sized area in that region as we fly in to our target area from a remote area (Continuous LOD aka "CLOD" feature).
Thus, we sometimes have to either forcefully 'exclude and replace' all of certain CVX vector content within a local QMID-11 / LOD-9 quad, and/or artificially extend the LOD coverage extents of a custom local CVX vector flatten or terrain mesh BGL by placing outlying vertices beyond the Geographic extents of the underlying default or 3rd party flattens and/or terrain mesh ...so that it can 'compete' against the larger coverage extents of underlying terrain mesh for the attention of the FS run time terrain rendering sub-system.
BTW: Since the structures in the area that you are trying to modify are in the tropics, probably are paved, and will not likely require seasonal texture changes, you could just build them into the foundation of any 3D objects you may be modeling to place on top of the intended flattens.
Alternatively, you could model the flattens themselves in a 3D modeling application, then export them from MCX as "sloped flattens".
Hope this helps a bit more !
