• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Flight Model Bending - The Graf Zeppelin (II)

It's going to be beautiful when it's finished! Nice! And I'm working on the dirigible hangar at KAKR (Akron Fulton Airport, Akron, Ohio, USA).....so I'll have a place you can park it!

@marinerhawk ...you have to make that model available as a model so that we can add it to our homemade airports Every town should have one.... Greets and Best Wishes.. particular to protect the beautiful airship that @IC3MAN is designing...

I can definitely do that when I finish! I'll make it its own library object!

I have a few ideas of how to make ground equipment work, though that's for the future if I can get the Zep finished, in the meantime that looks awesome. Still can't believe three of those hangars still exist.

I will be making a model of the standard zeppelin hangar with this project, (the same as that in rio), that was at Rhein-Main, Lowenthal and Friederichshafen

like this?....kinda dated. .lol...i understand for historical accuracy.... marinerhawk gots some pizzazzzzz.... my 1 cent worth....
can it be scaled down if you wanted a slightly smaller one. This thing would take up my whole airport but I guess I can bulldoze some neighborhoods. Looks like Akrons got one..nice building..your's (marinerhawk) will blend right in...

Ok so the left picture is a standard late zeppelin shed assembled in Germany and shipped to Rio. This is the last remaining of five built. There were two built at Rhein-Main (present-day Frankfurt airport location), one at Lowenthal (present day Friedrichshafen airport) and one in Friedrichshafen town (site of the original Zeppelin works).

The latter is a Goodyear Zeppelin designed hangar with characteristic orange peel doors, there is three of this design (with some variations) in existence, that one at Akron, OH, Hangar One at Moffett Field, CA, and the other at Weeksville, NC.

ok..thanks so the building above at Akron is a hanger..Here's weeksville.. one is still around..made of steel and the other in this photo i guess is the wooden one that burned down.

Well it seems I am barking up the right tree, good to not have wasted my time, hope Microsoft/Asobo have some documentation as to how they made this work properly

Guessing this is how they are going to do helicopters/exotics, lets hope they can expand the simvar suite (/make aero calculation easier then it currently is) and then this may have some legs

Hey, Happy New Year!!!

I just found this project and it looks amazing, I can't wait to see more ;)

It's been a while, but I haven't forgotton this project, took a break for a couple of months but I'm back making progress with the models, taking my time as I want to capture as much detail as possible and not shortcut.

Welcome back, happy to see this project alive!!! Can't wait to see more, the model looks Fantastic! :)

Adding new pieces all the time to a fully revised hull with new fins and refinements in object placement, taking time especially with the small details. Very happy with the new engine/engine pods, pleased I went back again to do them justice - no where near done yet but getting closer. Flight model still in stasis that said, some thinking to do there.

Throwing on some basic materials and testing in game is so satisfying!
