• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi Everyone.

I have a question about FSX Mission Editor.
It does not look like there is a way to make the mission work so the user can choose a flight plan when flying the missions.
Do you guys have any good hint and tips about this? :o

I have tryed to read the manual for the program, but have not found a way to do this. :banghead:
I get some feedbacks from customers which say the missions are only okay, but not great.
This is mainly because of the lag of a Flight Plan when flying a mission inside FSX.

I would like my missions to be able to show a flight plan inside the gps for missions. :banghead:

Once I know how to do this ''with your help'' I will make some updates to the missions I have made to correct this. :D

Does the mission have to have more than two waypoints?
I only have start and a ending point, not more.

I have been using the Object Placement Tool. The Mission Editor looks like a great way to get started making missions, but it may not be able to do everthing.

Create the flight plan in Free Flight. Move the flight plan (.PLN)to your mission folder. Edit the .FLT file to point to the location of the .PLN file. Look for this:

[GPS_Engine]
Filename=

Put the name of your Flight Plan, without the .PLN. For example, if your flight plan is called LT2.PLN, you would have this:

[GPS_Engine]
Filename=LT2

You will find the flight plan on the knee board and in the GPS in your mission. You can have as many waypoints as you wish. The flight plan has no affect on the mission. Flight Plan Waypoints, and "Points of Interest" are two different things. I have a feeling you want to know about Points of Interest and the Mission Compass.
