• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

To see some Work In Progress screen shots of a scenery I've been working on click here. Reunion Island is a region of France in the Indian Ocean. I've designed the scenery to work with the existing France VFR photoscenery of Reunion Island but it will work fine without it.

Greg its amazing!! I only wish I could find Reunion by France VFR to go with it. You always create amazing scenery!!

Awesome Work Greg...
Once again, a huuuuuge Thank you to fill this missing Gap in FS2004...

Btw. how about Little Rock Airport, Arkansas (KLIT/LIT) next?
This is a major hub for Delta and American Airlines... and it's still a missing gap as well in FS2004 and only has a Scenery done with few runway12 addon buildings...
I remember JETSTREAM DESIGN did it for FSX... but has never been done for FS9...

Sincerely from Switzerland,

Airbasil

Thanks! The fellows over at FS2004-team forum are trying to do something about getting France VFR to make it available again.

Thanks. Basil, sorry to say the airport you suggest is not likely to be done by me. Maybe conversion of the Jetstream airport is possible. I know quite a few FS9ers are buying FSX and P3D airports and converting them to FS2004 for their own personal use. By the same token, I've given permission to P3D and X-Plane developers to convert my stuff to their platforms so there is some cross pollination going on.

Hello Greg

Another masterpiece man; beautifully done, my friend.

Keep it up!
Sergio.

Superb work. How did you manage the "real lighting" experience inside the hangars? I assume this could only be possible from P3Dv4 upwards by using "Dynamic Lighting". The light appearance looks very realistic....

It is all texture work. I tried to do the same for GSE on the ramp and some of the parking lot cars.

Thanks for all the positive comments.

By the way, I received permission from France VFR to combine its scenery for Reunion with my airport project. Many in the FS9 community did not have the La Reunion scenery and it is impossible to purchase in 2022, so I reached out to FVFR. They very graciously agreed to provide it to the FS9 community as long as it was bundled with my airport. It is posted to AVSIM library. Unfortunately too big for direct upload to Flightsim.com and their FTP site is not working so for now the only source of the revised scenery is AVSIM.

Please also look for a small fix. Somehow I missed two textures so whatever version of FMEE you are using please download and add the textures.

Nearly 400 downloads already.

No luck involved. One of the best scenery developers for still one of the best, complete simulators available.

As someone said on one of the flightsim forums, his YWG (one of the best of any sim available) is much better in FS9 than what he has in his MSFS.

Not bad for a 16 year old sim. ;)

You get me all wrong guys, :) not my intension. Probably wrong wording with ”luck” should have been success. Have had this hobby now for close to 30 years and its fun there are so many options from FS9 to MSFS and everything between. I am no designer of airports and all I meant was I wish with this talent that you would design for MSFS as well, wishful thinking 😃. Again sorry if I came out sounding anything other than what I really meant.

Hi Greg,
I don't know if you'll see this message, but this is just to say how I'm baffled by your scenery! I still use FSX and decided to try to use your addon and see if it'll work in FSX without any conversion to be done. It works superbly. Congratulations to your splendid work from France.

Hello Claude

I don't check in here much so sorry for the late response. I didn't realize my scenery works with FSX so glad to have this news. And happy you like it. Just in case you didn't know, the good people at France VFR let me bundle the airport with their photo scenery of Reunion Island and offer it without cost to the FS9 community. The bundle was a second release of the scenery. Perhaps that would work as well in FSX?

Best wishes,

Greg

Hi Greg, no problem as far as timing. The last post was on 2022! Yes I saw the Island addon. I tried to set it with the airport but it looks as it doesn't work properly under FSX, I can't remember what was wrong. The airport being ok and the immediate scenery too I'll keep things as is.
While we're discussing perhaps you may answer a few questions about FS 2020 and 2024.
  • When you buy them are the software physically or not on your computer or is it a partial download which implies to be connected all the time to the internet? For instance with Adobe Creative Cloud programs part of the programs have to be so otherwise the license is not live and the program will stop functioning. From my point of view such a situation is dangerous regarding the possible cyber attacks exposures.
  • The second problem is the possible exposure to constant adds on behalf of the companies which have developed those new simulators and the use of private infos by them. For instance Adobe obliges you to leave on the account your Visa as this is a monthly subscription. Amazon the same unless you erase after each buy the credit card infos. As a private banker I am opposed to such obligations exposing the user to dangerous financial hacks.
Thanks again for your great work and in advance for your advice to be for my questions.
Take care and best wishes
Claude

Sorry, I was under the impression you made the post on April 26, 2026.

I have no experience with FS2024 so I cannot answer for that platform. As for FS2020, I purchased it but seldom used it. It has a beautiful ground environment but I still prefered FS9. So, it is impossible for me to answer questions beyond my recollection is it did require an internet connection, and a microsoft account. I am sure active users of the two are better able to answer your questions.
