• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

my laptop which I had all of my FSX stuff on it has to go to the shop for repair

so-- Im stuck on the family computer with fs2002 on it :(

my question- does AIFP work with fs2002?

I don't know much on that topic, but I doubt that unless the FS2004 schedules are backward compatible with FS2002.

I suppose you could try to open the FS8 traffic file in AIFP. That might tell you something.

I've never tested AIFP-generated traffic files with FS8. However, I understand the traffic file formats of FS8 and FS9 are almost identical. The only change I'm aware of is that TNGs were introduced in FS9, (using a previously-unused bit), so it's unlikely they will work in FS8. Otherwise, I see no reason why traffic files compiled for FS9 shouldn't work otherwise in FS8.

Best way to tell is try it and see. Can't do any harm.

ok-- first it says I have to update the microsoft DOT net to use it--

will that hurt my computer? what will it do?

The current version of NET.Framwork is 3.5. AIFP will (or at least is designed to) run with 2.0. I've just upgraded to a new computer and VS2008. 2.0 is the oldest version I can make AIFP run with. Previous versions would run with 1.1.

As Bob say, upgrading will not hurt your computer. It will allow your computer to run with all current NET.Framwork programs.

well I tried using a couple basic plans but it isnt showing up---

with this being an old version of FS and me toying around with it when I was like 11 I probably messed it up so I am considring reinstalling it because I cant seem to add scenery either (using FS9 & FSX methods)

The old Ttools + companion, maybe, for the AI?
Airport for Windows or FSScenery Creator and Easy Object Creator?
They can still be downloaded from Flightsim.com.
