Hello friends,
I've been studing a FSDS file on how a ships radar is constructed when I noticed that the radar dish was transparent inside of FSDS as in wire form, rather than being a solid object which has not had any textures applied.
I have never seen this techique done before as usually a transparent part of an object requires a texture and that transparent part is usually a solid colour, often green.
When I saved the radar dish as a stand alone piece and reloaded it to a new window, it appeared solid, like it had lost its transparent information in the saving process.
Now there are NO textures applied to either of the objects, so what made the original object look like a wire and transparent dish.
Can any body explain in laymans terms, how this techique is performed in FSDS. See screen shots attached for what I'm talking about.
Any advice would be appreciated,
