• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

FSSC runway error

Hi!

I'm trying to create a custom airport with FSSC. I'm going to redo a allready existing airport and I didn't know the exact longitude and latitude values for the runways. So I opened AFCAD 2 and copied over the values from the default FS 2004 runways of that airport. That wasn't that hard but when I press OK in the runway preference window in FSSC after pasting in the new values I get these huge X and Y values and the error shown in the picture.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Erik!

My first guess is that you have not specified a center location, of the entire project, or that the runway that you want to place is too far away from that center? Just a hunch... I´m a bit rusty on FSSC!

I think Hans is right here. It seems you have not setup the properties of the airport correctly, in that case the center is at N0 W0. If your actual runway is far away from there you will get an error, because it is outside of the range of the project.

Thanks alot guys, I'll try to set a center value for the aiport later today and see what happens.

Have a nice day! :)

And don't forget to reenter the values of the runway! The reason for the error is wrong data type for these values. Derek told me a long ago that FSSC is supposed to create sceneries of some moderate size, let's say 40x40km max...

Best regards,
