I have both, but had some trouble so finally reinstalled fs9 but it won't install. It hangs or stalls on cab1 or 2 files in disk 1.

Could it be that I have top get fs9 instlled AND THEN fsz? In other words, if fsx is on my machine something like this above problem will occur?

BTW- I tried an install on the wife's machine and it was installing just fine.

The two versions install completely separate...

...neither one will affect the other.

I suspect that you are having a CD read error problem with the FS9 disks.

I'm afraid of that too, but this isthe samedrive I've used all along for all my installs. I fear I have a serious computer problem. Checked for virus... none... even after full reinstall of XP. I'm in big trouble!

This sounds like a hardware problem.

Or it could be your computer is gunked up with dust, and this is chocking the air to either your CPU or your memory sticks. Take the take the side cover off your case and look with a flashlight. You can buy aeresol cans of compressed air to blow out the dust from the CPU heatsink and memory sticks.

The case has screens to filter dust, so blow them out too.

Or it could be your CD/DVD drive. You can buy a new one relatively cheap.

Less likely is a serious problem with your harddrive or motherboard.

You are really shure?

I have install the FSX after FS9 and after deinstall of FSX, the FS9 will not start by doubleclick on the FS9 Shortcut on my Desktop.

They tell me an error because of the FS9 Path in the Registry.

My solution was to start AFCAD and they restore my FS9 Path in the Registry.

After that the Desktop-Shortcut from FS9 works fine. :D

Hmmm...I had both on my Vista32 rig with no problems at all. Seems to me that they are two different programs. Why would they conflict?

Found the answer! I had a bad memory stick in #2 slot. Ifit were #1 I would have had some really terrible things showing up. This way it was more suttle. Anyway things work far better now.

Now... hoe do I make a hard point... landable surface? Also is there a way to do some kind of verticle "apron" or somethimg whre the seashore would drop a bit rather than 'rising' up to meet the land? I have an apron right to water's edge. The water is right at the same level or EL as my apron. How can I fix tahat?
