Hi guys,

I have a problem with installing FSX on a external harddisk. The installation proces has fully completed, but when I start the program, I get this message

Product activation error
An error occurred while attempting to activate the product. The problem may due to an incomplete installation of the application. Reinstalling may solve the problem. Otherwise, please contact product support for assistance.

I have reinstal the whole program at the same external harddisk but the porblem stil occurs.

I have tried to contact the customer support but for that i have to pay at least€72,-!!!

maybe you guys are familiair with this problem, and are able to help me solve this problem.

What I also would like to say is that I use a legal version of FSX, and that this version of FSX always have worked on my internal harddisk.

Please help me:)

Hi,

Did you have FS installed before in another location on the same computer? I am thinking it might be a registry problem.

Thanks for the tip but i already solved the problem. I found a crack on the internet that bypasses the registery file. It is not a legal way, but microsoft do not have another solution for this problem.

But i have another problem now, and i know for shure that fsx will not run on my laptop. I have a netbook 10" screen, fsx requieres a minimum of 1024x768 pixels but my videocard on this small laptop is configured for max 1024x600 pixels.

So when I start FSX it gives a message to change my screen resolution. After that message it shuts down itself.

I have been looking on many many forums, but there is no way play FSX on a netbook.
Only FS2000, fs2002 and fs9 are able to run on this type of laptops.

So thanks for your help!

regards!

Tim
