• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Now that 1.06 has been released I thought people might like to know what's upcoming in 1.07.

Here's a preview of the built in shape viewer.

The second image shows what happens when you select a folder. It shows all the shapes that are contained in the folder (and any sub folders). In this case you can see the river and its islands.

Good idea.

I notice from your other post you have 46 BGL files?

I usually just have 1 big KML file and so I get 1 output BGL.

You must have 46 KML files? Can I ask why so many?

carlos, why not opening all kml files in google and move all objects into one folder? it is very easy to move them.
Afterwards save one new kml where you have all of them included!

Excellent work mate!
Things are really happening fast with this piece of software. From a swiss army knife to a professional toolbox in notime. Keep up the good work!

That looks great! Many thanks for your work on this tool. It just keeps on getting better and better! :)

Matthews:

Now are 62 cvxfiles.

Sample:

Correction of cost line of Ushuaia Bay (same file with the cost line).

One with tag Hydro
One with tag Exclude Shorelines
One with tag Flatten

Generate Conejos Island (same file with the contour of island)

One with tag Airport_Backgrounds_Flatten
One with tag LandClassPoly_Heath_Scrub
One with tag Exclude__WaterPolys

If you nee I can send by mail the sources files or publish in this forum.

It is probable that I it does not find known to handle of more efficient way the tool.

I have used the method of test and error, until obtaining the wished effect.

Even the old coastline, in some places, I did not manage to exclude them definitively.

Now I understand that I must move all the archives to a single folder in GE. I am going to tary to do it.

Thank you very much by it interesaese in my proposal.

Best Regards

In GE you can have sub folders. I find it's easier to put create a top level folder for my project and then create sub folders as needed to help structure my project. Then just save the top level folder as a KML and use it in FSX KML.

For example, here is my project folder structure

Code:
[-] New South Wales
[+] Gold coast to Coffs harbour
  [+] Coffs harbour to Taree
  [+] Taree to Sydney
  [-] Sydney
    [-] Bays and Inlets
      [-] Sydney Harbour
        [+] Coastline
        [+] Beaches
      [+] Botany Bay
      [+] Brisbane Waters
    [-] Rivers
      [+] Parramatta River
      [+] Lane Cover River
      [+] Georges River
    [+] Roads and Freeways
    [+] Landclass
  [+] Sydney to VIC border

and so on... I just save the top folder "New South Wales" to a KML file and that will include all the sub folders. When I open in FSX KML I see all the sub folders. And when I build there is only 1 output file "cvxNew South Wales.BGL"

Matthews:

Thanks very much.

I use the same information for three different TAGS. It is the same file generated by GE, but copied to the disc with three different names.

It would be necessary to think the possibility of assigning more than a TAG to the same contour.

That is to say, drawing once the coastline and I assign the height to him to the land in GE. Soon FSX KML takes that information and it allows to assign a TAG to exclude hydro_polis, another TAG to add landclass and another one for the flatten.

An idea is single that would facilitate the work.

(sorry for my very poor english..)

Best Regards

carlos

In FSX KML you can use the copy button, which will make a copy for polyline/polygon and then just tag it with different tag.

I think in GE you can also copy/paste entire folders (as well as individual polylines/polygons).
