FSX- Planner problem

I tried to place a new airport in FSX which is in New Zealand and i live in NZ and have flown there and thought it would be cool to put it in FSX cause it isnt, but i put in the Longitute and langitude or however it is spelt, and i made the runways and everything i wanted at that point but when I compiled it, it was in the middle of the ocean and te land had become a hill instead of ocea, but it was up near america or somewhere. But thats nowhere near where it is in real life and i put in the real life longitude and langitude, and i have tried putting it in backwards but its still out in the ocean nowhere near where it is in real life. could someone try to tell me what im doing wrong if i am doing sothing wrong. The Wikipedia site for NZFF(the airfield im trying to make) is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_Field_Aerodrome

there is also a pdf i got from there that i used to get some info off.

What are the exact lat/lon coordinates that you are entering into FSX Planner for the airport's location?

uh yeah, thats a typo, this is what i used 43° 23′ 9″ S, 172° 21′ 38″ E .

it doesnt seem to put forest field where it should be though, as i said it puts it in the middle of the ocean nowhere near NZ-where it should be.

I found the problem but i cant change it. The problem is, when i open NZFF in FSXPlanner in the airport info part with the airport altitude and longitude and latitude and stuff the longitude and latitude are: 0.0000000000 and thats wat it says for both, and when i put in the real longitude or latitude i press enter once i have typed it in and it goes back to 0.0000000000. So thats the problem thats occuring and thats why the airport goes to where it isnt meant to be, so how do i fix this problem and get FSXPlanner to acknowledge the actual longitude and latitude?

Change your Lat/Long setting in the preferances window to reflect the format you are using (Decimal instead of DMS) and see if that helps.

i changed what i thought was what you told me too and it made no overall difference, when i put in the co-ordinates it changed the format it was in but just went back to 00 00 00N. etc. So can you explain to me in more detail what you said above and ill try it again.thanks

There could be a bug. I will look into it and see if that is the case.
