FSX SDK Mission Creation Tutorial

I've been working my way thru the Mission Creation Tutorial that comes with the SDK for FSX but have struck a problem in Step 6 "Introduce the Mission to the User". Specifically, after indicating that the "Show Captioning" check box on the Settings - General screen should be checked, the tutorial then goes on to state that the "Allow realism changes during Missions" check box should also be checked.

My problem is that I can't find the latter check box anywhere so that I can select it.

Could anyone tell me where to look for it?

Thanks

jeb

Hello Jeb,

that box is at the bottom of the UI when you select the mission in the missions UI.
If you have set the realism settings in your mission to "enforced" than you won't be able to slew through your mission, if you set it to "userdefined" you can slew if you tick the box you named. It saves a lot of time developing missions if you do it in this mode. :)

Hi Horst18519

Thanks for your prompt response to my post re the location of the check box in FSX allowing realism changes in missions.

Thanks to your help I found it OK and now realise why I couldn't find it in the first place (because in Step 6 of the Mission Creation Tutorial it's referred to as "Allow Realism changes during Missions" whereas on the UI for Missions it's called "Enable changes in selected mission...".

Many thanks again as I can now get on with the rest of the tutorial.:D

That's what happens when last minute changes to the UI text don't get communicated back to the document folks correctly (I just plugged in the UI text I was given, I take no responsibility for any of it, unless you like it, then it was my idea :-> ).

Mission Creation Tutorial

Hi Tim

Thanks for your response to my post about the difficulty I was having with the Mission Creation tutorial.

I'm not sure what you are getting at in your response however.

Could you please elaborate, preferably in simple terms as I'm not very experienced in the technicalities?

Thanks

jeb
