• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

We are now testing the real time traffic big time... Below first Delft Seaways entering Dunkerque real time

Kai is still fine tuning the manoevers - the last meters to the quai might sometimes happen as a small jump due to timing of data and difficulties in getting the ships to sail sideways. But overall it works.

Below Galata Seaways leaving Turkish waters (ps she was repainted and extended since that picture )

and here Humbria Seaways in Gothenburg

and while Kai works on the real time injection I add models - here Botnia Seaways

Damn! A whole new naval section on the MSFS2020 World Simulation comes to live
Question:
Has Lockheed Martin(tm) already contacted your team to ask if they are allowed to purchase a industrials-grade license and sdk
so they become able to embed this technology into their own Prepar3D product line? for real-world training purposes (of ship-crews) for example?

to expand a bit on the above... Modelling is a hobby for me; if money becomes a part it will stop being fun and relax... I do have an interesting daytime job so this will stay a hobby.
Read you 5-outof-5 sir ;-)

I work as editor and videographer in the audiovisual field mainly on weekends and this allowed me more time to dedicate myself to MSFS in creating 3D scenery and player-controlled boats or ships. It's really cool to work with this, deal with open source resources and test new solutions to some problems that present themselves and see all this happening in such a realistic and well-made graphics engine.
My only expectation is that Asobo will take a more optimistic look at the possibilities beyond planes that the open world of MSFS holds. The work done here with traffic AI is amazing.

This is almost incredible, what an improvement! Same excitement like the progress in aircraft development.

I just posted a note on my Discord channel about the update the scenery of the Pier for Boats and Helipad of Sepetiba - RJ, he is ready and will be published on Flightsim.to for free soon, along with the launch of the new package of driveable small fishing boats.
Speaking of the latter, I added a boarding bridge with height adjustment option to properly level with any type of pier in the world higher or lower than the boat. This fishing boat is also amazing, it has very nice lighting and navigation physics. I hope this kind of information gets boat lovers on MSFS excited about it
Looks very nice!

Ps... Estou em Sao Paulo este fim de semana caso vc esta perto.

Back on subject then...

Together with Kai from the AIG Team and the team of Fleetmon.com we are getting some real progress with the Real Time Traffic... Just a single screenshot today but illustrating the variety we are achieving at one of the many anchorage points around the world matching the GAIST Fleet against AIS data from Fleetmon.com

I think I read somewhere that the current Ultra Beta for MSFS is backwards compatible. Is that correct or am I wrong? Because I am unable to get it working correctly in P3Dv5 (add-on.xml method).

And does anyone here know where I could download the V2 Version that used to work in P3Dv5?

Hi,
Ultra Beta for MSFS is not for P3D because it use MSFS 3D native models.
P3D version can be find on flightsim or AVsim libraries.

Our real time traffic project for MSFS is progressing. The engine developed by Kai from AIG selects ships first based on a direct match on the ships IMO registration or MMSI registration number; if no direct hit it takes another model based on type, flag, and size. We have more than 800 unique gltf models to choose from and with repaint close to 2400 ships matching on IMO number. The job the last months has been filling in gaps in the fleet so we have at least one model matching all sizes of the most important ship types; still some job to do but now we have so good a match that the sensation when flying is very real - eg there is now tug operations at ports.

One of the big news in the last couple of weeks was a permission from Larry Robinson and ORBX to convert Larry's models to MSFS and use them in real time combined with a bunch of new ferries from my hand. Together it makes an almost complete set of the fleets of BC Ferries and Washington State ferries in the Pacific North West.

Very very nice, are they "extracted" from the "former" P3D models?

HB
Yes, I got the permission to convert the files Larry did for his different P3D sceneries available at ORBX. Combining our fleets the PNW is now very saturated with shipping :D

And the rest go for the rest of the world - below Rotterdam - no need for static ships anymore.

This is something I've been dreaming about for years ever since FSX, super stoked you guys have done this!!! I've been also wanting to do something similar with live satellite data to put illuminated satellites in the night sky, but that's been way beyond my capabilities. Awesome work guys on the live shipping!!!
