Hi all.
I'm new on this Forum but i followed vith interest for many years the discussions on it. I serch for a section dedicated to presentation but i didn't find it so:
I'm from Italy, very "old" :D and from the first PC in 1985 i fly with everithing that can flyu :)

Now, after some scenery built for FS9 (running very well on FSX) i have to built something for P3D v2.
I follow the suggestion on creating 3D objects with the GMax Gamnepack for FSX and it works greatly. The sceneries works fine on my FSX.
Starting with the convinction that P3D and FSX are "different twins" i ported the scenery on P3D.
This is the result:

I have the yextures completely misplaced. In FSX are at the corret place.
Can You suggest me something?
Thanks.

Hi,

What format are you using for the textures? I haven't heard of issues with textures between FSX and P3D yet.

I assigned a BMP texture on the 3D object in the GMax project and then converted in DDS DXT5 for FSX and Prepar3D. In FSX it works but not in P3D.

Stupid stupi stupid !! :mad::mad::mad:
I put the wrong image format!!
Now, with Extended Bitmab DXT1 it works!!

Just a single word: FORMAT .... and the world return to spin!!!!!
Thank You Arno!!

DDS DXT5 should also work, that is quite a commonly used format. Where you using the same DDS file in both FSX and P3D?

But that's for fsx as well. So if it works in fsx, I don't understand why it would be flipped in p3d v2.

There seems to be a issue with some textures in P3D. Some people have to set Textures limit from say 2048 or 1024 up to max, 4096, then run it a bit and revert the settings back to what you had it, and 'that' should cause textures to be normal again.
