• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I made a static plane in gmax with the extention compiler for FSX. Everything is well made in fsx. Is it possible to compile the same plane for 2004 .... when i made it for FSX. When i load the same plane in the gmax with the compilor for FS 2004 and try to compile the plane for 2004, it says that it does not find the compilor. Since the plane was made for FSX is there a way to use it in FS 2004 ... Your help would be very appreciated here. Thx

yes i do. Sorry i found i think the problem. I just have to click <<Revert to startup layout>> is this possible. Will it bring the plane to a normal gmax model not made with the FSX Gamepack. I hope so.

No...

Unless you deliberately built the model using the exact partnames required for FS9 animations, it will not work.

Also, since some FS9 animations are "built-in" to the sim itself, you will need to remove the keyframes from the partname.

Also, FSX Material definitions are not backwards compatible with FS9, so all Materials will need to be redefined and applied to all parts...

Are you talking about the texture or the material itself not compatible with 2004. How do i redifine the material...... thx for your help

Hi,

Bill means that if you applied FlightSimX materials in the FSX gamepack, then you have to remove these and replace them by standard materials again. The FS2004 gamepack does not know the FlightSimX materials. The texture files can still be used.
