A newbie guestion?
I am working on a log cabin for a scene in flight sim. I am very new to Gmax and having some problems with it but am working thru that. What I need help with is how to texture it and were to fine a log cabin texture for it. If there is a good tutoral on texturing with gmax could some one point me to it. In texturing the cabin would i be better to just do it in Paint shop pro or can it all be done in gmax and then import it into my scene. thanks for any help that you can give me.

Gday Woody, im currently working on a basic tutorial for Gmax that covers creating Two base objects that an then be used to create a New object.

This will introduce you to the Array commands and Scale commands and Merge commands, It will also cover basic texturing.

Its designed for totally new users and the end result will be to create a wooden ladder as a scenery object.

Its about 70% complete and undergoing proof reading and fine tuning for errors, omisions and removal ofassumptions of prior knowledge.

Ill post an update when its ready ( prob PDF Format ) and will be printable.

This is designed for NEW users but may offer some assistance to those who are already using Gmax in a basic context.

In regards to textures for objects, PSP and Photoshop. It isnt hard once the basics are taught but there is a good one by Jordan Moore at scenery.org from memory in the tutorial section that covers texture creation by use of photo's.

On the NL2000 site, the third part of the tutorial is also dealing with textures. But I guess you don't speak Dutch, so you will have to wait till it is translated to English as well :D.
