• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi guys,
i am trying to use the google earth satellite in SBuilderX however when i choose Show Background, i can only zoom 3 clicks with mouse wheel and then i get nothing more than a blank white screen! (Zoom level is only showing the whole of Australian continent...im not able to zoom in any further)

I open SBuilderX
Choose File>New Project
Edit>Preferences - google Earth Satellite (also ensuring the "use Google Satellite ?" checkbox is selected)
View> Show Background

Blank Screen:confused::(

What am i doing wrong???

I dont get a blank screen if i choose either of the other 2 satellite options but im not happy with the resolution...i feel google is better!

Google are not keen for their tiles to be scraped for scenery.

There are a number of DLLs provided by Dick Ludowise on the forums here that update Sbuilder to work with the new servers.

You will not be able to release any imagery made this way.

Good to see you are discovering the difference between photo-scenery and landclass and texture based products

yeah i wondered about that. seems even when its a paid for image the same copyright issue arises...i was looking at that earlier this morning. i wonder if i may have to take aerial shots myself to avoid this roblem??? that would be a bit of a pipe deam for me though...i dont have that kind of photography equipment! where can i get decent imaging of sydney from???

btw, i updated SBuilderX .dlls...it doesnt work with the google earth servers...i still cannot zoom in! Have you tried it at all...if so any ideas on what i may be doing wrong???

I have the same issue with the google.dll and I have been asking around the forums for help already. I have as well downloaded the last dll no. 122 but still do not get the same results as previously (last year). Hope somebody can help

If you still have a cache folder full of old tiles, Sbuilder will not try to download them again. You will need to remove the old files from the relevant "tiles" folder before trying again.

but I have already deleted the old tiles, where else could there be anything that is disturbing the google images?
