Hi All
Just downloaded and tried the fsx planner and already I am having problems.

When I press the compile button I get the following error message

ERROR: Unable to find BglComp.exe
The specified folder is:
F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\BGL Compiler SDK

Please make sure this is correct
.

and in the box just above the blgcomp message windows says the following

folder containing BlgComp.exe:
F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\BGL Compiler SDK

looking forward to your help.

Not to sound sarcastic, but the file "BglComp.exe" has been physically verified in that folder? And you have the SDK SP1a installed (though I am not 100% if the update is required)?

Dave

If that was the case than I should see a modified bgl file in the fsx scenery
folder-but I don't.

Not sure what I need to do-as this is my 1st ever attempt with this software.

The first thing is to be sure that the FSX BglComp is where you have specified. The error message is telling you that FSX Planner can't find it so there is a fair chance that you have not specified the correct folder

As everyone else above has said, it's probably because the folder path is not correct. If you got to that folder using explorer can you see the bglcomp.exe file? Also, F is an unusual drive letter. Are you sure it's not supposed to be D, or the default of C?

Thanks to everyone for your help.

The problem is I don't know where the bglcomp.exe is located.
I have done a file search and it came up blank.

Could you please tell me where does fsx planner place this file.

FSX Planner doesn't come with bglcomp.exe. Bglcomp.exe is installed with the SDK. So, my first question, is have you installed the SDK? It's one the first DVD of the sim. Once you install the SDK, you'll also want to go to www.fsinsider.com and get the update to SP1A.
