• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Help with Water/Flatten's

Yes, that's the problem. In GE, you need to set the altitude for the lake poly in metres, then export to KML. That ought to fix the problem.

Where do put in the altitude

I have the same problem when I tried to add a lake on a mountain in New Hampshire. I used GE (free) to make the lake and set the view to meters in the options menu then saved it as a KML file, but still the lake is sunk to 0.4AGL. I also noticed in the notepad that all the altitude reads 0.000000 for each point.
When I change the altitude in the property menu to 848m and set to ground there is no change. The elavation for this mountain is 2745.3 agl in FSX so how do I change the altitude in GE or in FsX KML.
Any way you can add this to your next version so that we can change the altitude in FsX KLM?

Thank you for your promp response.
I did find out what I was doing wrong and finally got the lake ontop of the mountain. Only problem is that the lake was much smaller then I thought when I had visited it. The lake is Lonesome Lake in New Hampshire and is part of the Appalachian Trail. I thought it would be fun to land a sea-plane on it. Its is very difficult, but can be done.
Once again, THANK YOU
Looking forward to your next release,:)

Airport Altitude

For some reason the Altitude of the default FSX airport in Norfolk Island is at sea level.

The correct altitude (and approximately that of the add-on mesh I'm using - Abacus World Extreme v2) is 371 feet.

Even with a new AFCAD, a replacement Airport_Flatten_Exclude tag overlapping the existing airport (altitude set at 371 for each) the airport is still at Zero ASL.

I haven't been to this airport - but the approach in a 737-300 would be difficult to say the least (think: Grand Canyon)

Any suggestions on what I need to do to lift the airport out of the crater?

The code is YSNF

It is listed as New South Wales Australia (although technically that is incorrect)

Hi, hcornea

I visited your airport and in default fsx mesh it's normal. But the island is not at sea level. I do not have any mesh for the area, and can't see the same image you show.

It's possible to adjust the airport to real altitude. You should exclude theoriginal flatten, create a new one with SBuilderX opr other tool you want, and make a new afcad wit the correct altitude.

Regas,

José
