• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi Everyone. I am getting an error message from ADE20 Alpha16 that states that the base file not found. please check your content path. My content path is set correctly and points to my official and community folders. Any suggestions? It happen when i try to create a new project from stock bgl. Thanks in advance.

Set the properties of your MSFS folder to "not hidden" and not "Read Only" and run ADE as Administrator.

This does not work for me. "Check FS20 paths" shows no error. I have changed all attributes as mentioned above and I run ADE as admin.
What else must I check?

Just a thought! Make sure the materials folder is unchecked. It should be checked only if you have materials in it. Lastly, might want to update to latest Alpha version, which is number 21. Make sure to include all the hotfixes for Alpha 21-(1-4).

Thank you so much. I already had ver 21 but applying HF4 did it. As to the materials folder: what and where??

Are you saying that HF4 fixed the issue or caused the issue? If fixed, great! As for the Materials folder. It can be found on The Project Properties page of your property. Please see attached snip.

Sorry for ambiguous reply. HF4 did fix it and I am happily renaming a few gates and twys for VATSIM use.

Just installed the most recent version as well as Hotfix 4 and 5... followed all steps above, running as Administrator - I'm getting the same message:

So I've tried everything recommended and still can't ADE to work. Hot fixes installed, paths updated, nothing hidden or set to read only, running as admin... If I update stock indexes, it looks like it updates but afterwards, I can't lookup airports. Still says it can't find the base file. Attached is a screenshot of my settings.ini.

Using MS Store version and I've moved my packages to a different drive to save space on my install drive.

Hi all! I keep having this same problem. I've done my best to try to change ownership of the folders, but for the life of me, I can't seem to stop Windows 10 from changing the folders back to Read Only. Is there any solution that you can think of that I can try to get this to work?

Installing to a directory that is not "Windows>Program Files," relaxes Windows write protected securities. I'd try that, my version resides at "C:\ADE_2020_Alpha_21."

Thanks, =rk=. I appreciate that tip. I installed ADE well outside of that, but it seems like my sim's folders are in the 'default' location. I try to change ownership of those directories and then point ADE to them, but each time, my FS Content folder in my C:\ drive is reset to read only no matter what I do, and I keep getting the same error. Would copying the Content folder outside of the C drive and to a temp director and pointing ADE to that work?

I've not had to be that drastic, but it seems safe enough to try.

Hello everyone,

I had the same problem when installing. BaseFile not found when I want to create a new project with an airport stock.
The cause was the MSFS directory name which was with a space.

Now, I have the same message when I want to update the object library via the "Tools/Update Objects From Base\" menu.
I tried by "Tools/Library Object Manager" to add a folder but the button "add folder" is not active, only add file is active.
