• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hold Short issues

How the heck do I stop AI aircraft 'blending' with each other at the hold short point. I have other airfields where the AFCAD seems to stop that, Birmingham for example, traffic just lines up, but not on my airfield....can someone put me out of my misery please

Thanks

Paul

Guess your taxipaths are not wide enough or else you have to add more blue nodes before the hold short.

Trouble is its only a grass taxiway that has to cater for GA. I also noticed another problem, whilst one aircraft moved on to the runway and took off the other, moved on to the runway and just sat there :(

Probably same problem.
If your runway is not wide enough, ATC will not know the previous plane already left the runway and will not give the OK for take off for the next one.
I remember that the width of the taxi and runway paths should be at least equal to the distance between the wheels of the aircraft involved.

Aah there's the problem, because I am working on very detailed photograph scenery I don't need to show the runway/taxiways in the model. So to get over that, as advised I made them 0 width in ADEx, it looks as if that brings another problem with it then:(

No, it does not if you use apron links of the right width instead of taxilinks as they do not have visual textures. Same goes for the runway: make the runway 1ft wide but the runwaylink the right width.

Is there no way getting AI aircraft to stop behind each other with 0m taxiway/path/runway width? I need an invisible airport layout because I use semitransparent groundpolys.
Even if I use taxipaths, I can't get rid of the markings (hold short + ILS) if the width is greater than 0. :(
