• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

How can I force snow on a mountain with SbuilderX?

Hi

I am changing the landclass of a region using SbuilderX. I have a moutnain that must be desert rock. Now in winter season, I see few snow patches on it only. How can I make it more covered with snow while having the desert rock tiles? or does it take a specific tile?

Thanks
Michel

The program cannot generate snow textures for you. You need to manually create the textures by hand in an editing program. I suggest you check out the tutorial of it for it is mostly explained.

Hi Michael.

I would suggest making a photoreal snow overlay. Photoreal can be controlled to display by month, and you can use a snow texture and a blend mask to control the display.

Here's a similar thread about ice:

Thanks so much for all your input and tips

I remember in FS2002 or 2004, that the mountains of the region I design, had snow on them when winter was set in the season menu or based on PC date...

In FSX, the same mountain area does not show that much snow during winter

So I thought it might be a specific class texture that make the snow display in winter. Or perhaps shall I tweak the seasons?

I will try the classes suggested

As for photoreal, I do not intend to go into that for now. I am trying to stick to landclass tiles with SbuilderX

Cheers
Michel
