How should I fault trace?

Up to the latest release I produced three sceneries without any problem. With the latest update the sim crash to desktop without warning every time I try to build anything. Even saving a project CTD. I have tried re-installing both the sim and the SDK several times without luck. Where do I start fault tracing? What can I do? I am running the X-box PC version and flying is no problem, just building projects.

I'm guessing you have an addon of some type. I would move them all to a safe folder away from the Community folder. Then see if the CTD's still occur.

There are 3 file locations for MSFS. The Community/Official location. The App location. And the "C:\<users>\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator" location.

Thank you for pointing in that direction. Magically it seems to work. Now I can build a package without CTD. I don´t understand how the Community folder could have anything to do with that but it probably had. Thanks again.

One of your addons was causing the problem. Add them back one-by-one, and you'll find the error.

Ok so now I have been able to do some scenerywork for a while until the CTD when trying to build project came back, Nothing in the Community folder and nothing in the project, just the starting xmls and folders. It drives me nuts. Every time i happens I have to repair MSFS application also. So the crash corrupts something in the app.

Just to let you know. The problem came back with CTD and msfs repair. Now I use the package tool in the SDK and it seems more stable. Fingers crossed.

The debug console may offer some help. It spews so many errors though it's a wonder the sim runs at all :)
