• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 How to import jetways ?

Hi.

As a second question, after editing RJAA jetways, my wish was to add some to every major airport. When using IS3 demo at Seattle airport, I found the jetway style was really interesting. So I opened the stock airport, copy the jetway to RJTT Haneda airport in Japan. As the jetway appeared into ADE, they don't show up into FS ? Yes I checked the altitude and adjusted it to ground level at Haneda.

I read a lot of interesting posts on this forum about with similar problem, but didn't find something about copying objects from one airport to another elsewhere in the world. I also didn't find any jetway in the objects library. I'll try tonight downloading the large 207mb library just to see if I can find something.

I just have a pain navigating into the library. I don't know where to go to find more objects in another library on my HD.

Thanks.

Andre.

Most, if not all, of the "custom" default scenery objects in FS9 are limited in terms of how far away from their original location you can use them [added] if you attempt to use them from the original, default files. [/added]

There are a few addon options available at the popular file libraries.

Sidney Schwartz has put together 2 libraries of the default jetways that you can use anywhere. He also built some custom jetway parts that you can use to create your own.

Shez Ansari also has a set of generic jetways that are very popular, look for jw_rwy12.zip. That package includes libraries for 3 different colors of jetways, white, brown and gray. If you want to use the brown or gray jetways you will also need to get the textures in jetways.zip.

cheers,
Lane

I knew about city objects, but didn't know about jetways. Thank you so much, that explain why I can import them. I already downloaded custom jetways from AVSIM but I'll look at your suggestion.

Thanks a lot.

Andre.

Hi Lane.

Ok, I installed Sidney's jetways and I can see them. But its not exactly what I was looking for. His jetways come in so many different parts to assemble. I just can't imagine building each jetway individually with five or six pieces each adjusting elevation of each piece !!! I hope there is a fastest way to build a jetway that I can move as a single piece as I can find at any airport. Do you have some suggestions ?

Thanks.

Andre.

ALL Scenery Objects including "custom" objects in both FS9 and FSX are not limited in distance and can be used anywhere in the world.

This is the XML code and a picture for FS9 to place the KSEA jetways at RJTT Haneda Tokyo airport.

<SceneryObject
lat="35.551010197"
lon="139.781682378"
alt="0.0F"
altitudeIsAgl="TRUE"
pitch="0"
bank="0"
heading="328.00000000"
imageComplexity="NORMAL">

scale="1.00" />
<ModelData
name="ccf3baf3468fcd68271b78be3112191e"
sourceFile="Seattle_64.mdl"
fileOffset="0" />

This picture shows the seattle jetway (top one) and the 2 diifferent type jetways that Narita uses.

The following links show many other custom buildings including City buildings placed in other parts of the world.

However as Lane pointed out some of this work has already been done. Sidney Schwartz extracted out the .mdl's and all the FS9 Jetways are in these files at AVSIM

Andre

See my post above to get the FS9 jetways from AVSIM

Yep.
Sidney Schwartz has put together 2 libraries of the default jetways that you can use anywhere.

fs9_jetways_ss_1_v2.zip and fs9_jetways_ss_2_v2.zip

Also...
Shez Ansari also has a set of generic jetways that are very popular, look for jw_rwy12.zip. That package includes libraries for 3 different colors of jetways, white, brown and gray. If you want to use the brown or gray jetways you will also need to get the textures in jetways.zip.

Thank you very much guys.

Wow, so nice jetways. I'll have a look at your links and be back.

Andre.

Do it yourself jetways scenery is newer. I like this jetways better design than old jetways scenery.

diy_jetways_ss.zip in avsim.

Stuart

Thank you very much Stuart.

I really progessed about this subject. I'm in direct discussion with Sidney and he gave me several links to get more libraries. I have much more fun now editing my airports.
