• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADE I have a bug between Airport Design Editor and FSX SE

Ohhh, interesting. So, if I want to share this airport, I should include both airports in the zip? 🤔 the MHPR (that contains the updates and new areas) and the MHSC (to exclude and delete the default airport MHSC using the method you said in previous posts)

How can I edit any traffic files that exist using MHSC? 🥺 I didn't even know that traffic files exists and it can be edited. 😅
Juan, without AI there is little reason to modify the airport! The overwhelming advantage of the FS9/FSX/P3D family of simulators over MSFS is that real-world traffic can be easily incorporated into the user's experience, and it brings the airports to life in a way that MSFS has never really been able to do for a single player.

If you remove MHSC in accordance with Jon's instructions you can include the removed MHSC within your MHPR folder so that the user has no need to do anything further. You will need to warn them that they will see on any in-sim maps an entry for MHSC Not In Use (if you use Jon's methodology), but the old layout won't interfere with your new airfield. I assume from your post that you don't (yet) use any of the third-party AI programs available, but as I allude above, this is a major part of the appeal of FSX and it's worth investigating. It's a big topic, however, and we can't possibly cover it in this thread. You'd be well advised to do some research on this forum - there's a lot to read and to learn! If you don't fully understand Tom's posts above (and there's no shame in that if you're new to this) you will soon learn what he's on about after reading some of the fabulous information available here.

You've made a good start on your airfield development journey! There's a long way to go, but keep asking the questions - you'll get there.

Thanks for your motivation Tim😄, it's difficult to find out tutorials or information about AI Flight Planner... I want to learn more about AI traffic on FSX but it's to difficult to find information.🥹 Could you give some advices, programs or tools to deal with the AI traffic of FSX SE? 🥺 Or what I should search on this forum to get that information? 😅

Hi again:

I am confident Tom may have additional clarifications and recommendations based on years of experience and practice working with FS. :teacher:

I recommend to first read the ADE Manual cited above, and then run ADE's 'Fault Finder' feature to ensure all edits you may have made to the default airport infrastructure are actually correctly configured ...before editing AI Traffic with a special FS 'traffic' utility / application.

If you wish to use AI Flight Planner (aka "AIFP") by Don "gadgets" Grovestine, his original website is now offline after his passing (RIP).

But, one can still find Don's excellent work online via the Internet Archive "Wayback Machine" ...here:

Do you know any tutorial on youtube or in this forum to learn how to use AIFP? 🥲

Sorry that I didn't reply earlier. Gary's links will give you a great deal of reading material about AIFP - which is a great program. You might also consider Alpha India Group's freeware Traffic Controller and Traffic Manager which will inject a great deal of civilian traffic into your sim. Kai, who is a large part of the development team, is active here at FSDev from time to time. https://www.alpha-india.net/software/

Nice! but this software it's for the FSX steam edition? I saw that it's for MSFS, or it works for both?

Ah, actually it’s for P3D and MSFS. I forgot you’re on FSX:SE. AIG is a lot older than either MSFS or Prepar3D so their files are very much compatible with FSX, but the Traffic Manager and Traffic Controller apps will automatically use AI aircraft that are P3D-only.

It is still perfectly possible to use the AIG traffic files in FSX, but you have to download them individually along with the subject aircraft. That’s basically how AI traffic has always worked if you want a custom installation, and is the basis for all MAIW’s military AI. I recommend you visit the AIG forum for more info.

There are a few payware civilian AI traffic programs available for FSX, but most of them have been discontinued now and may be hard to find. Just Flight Traffic Global (and its predecessors), and Ultimate Traffic Live are probably the best-known.
