• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Is Google API the only server now?

Prior to the release of the Google Api server I could get excellent resolution ground textures via ArcGis and VirtualEarth servers. Once I installed the Api server Google is the only one I can get anything from any more. Why is that?

Hi Ed:

SBuilderX version 3.15 has numerous tile servers that work properly on my development computers, including ESRI ArcGIS Imagery.

Did you use SBX315.ZIP "with all folders filled for immediate use without a previous installation of version 314" ?

...from this thread:

If you have an older SBuilderX version 3.14 that is malfunctioning due to tile server DLLs not-yet-updated, or which has tile servers that have gone off-line etc., you may have unpredictable results as above if you attempt to install SBuilderX version 3.15 into that older installation.

I suggest SBX315.ZIP "with all folders filled for immediate use without a previous installation of version 314" ...be installed into a completely empty folder.

Keep backups of *.SBP and *.SBX files and source files in [SBuilderX install path]\Tools\Work from any existing installations of SBuilderX versions such as 3.13 / 3.14 etc., as they may be useful in SBuilderX version 3.15 ;)

NOTE: The above SBX315.ZIP when un-ZIP-ed will create all its own nested sub-folders if you use a ZIP utility such as WINRAR set to "Extract Relative Paths" to preserve folder structure. :pushpin:
