• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Is there a forum that the Microsoft FSX developers use ?

How do we get answers to questions that only the Microsoft Developers know the answers to ? When something doesn't work the way the SDK says it is supposed to work who do we call "Ghostbusters ?"

Does anyone know a forum where we can ask questions of the developers ?

I hang around the FSDeveloper Scenery Design forums. If your question does not fall in that category, please post in the correct forum and give the community a couple of days. If the community is unable to help, PM me (linking to your posting) and I'll see if I can get an answer (I cannot guarantee an answer, but I'll do my best).

Please submit bugs (www.fsinsider.com) if the SDK does not work as advertised, or if you have an idea for future SDK functionality.

Hi,

Doug already answered most of your questions :).

And if you get no good answer to your question from the community and only MS can provide the answer, you can also be sure that the MVPs hanging around this forum will try to make MS aware of this problem.

Not to mention the fact that FSDeveloper.com is routinely read by the PM for Microsoft Flight Simulator - Paul Lange.

He routinely answers questions that "only the programmers" know the answers to.

Actually,

Paul and his ACES team frequent many of the most popular support sites for Flight Simulator. They're quite active in the community. I see many posts from a lot of the folks on his team here and elsewhere up to and including Phil Taylor, Microsoft's senior product manager for FSX.

What the problem is....

The SDK says that for CameraDefinitions that the intialzoom can be anywhere from 0.0 to 512.0. With FSX the Ctrl-; is supposed to reset and I assume reload the aircraft file if it has been changed while you are still in FSX. The same problem happened in FS9 where when you made a change and then reloaded the program, it did not load in the changes. I'm seeing the same thing in FSX. I have to completely get out of FSX and then reload from scratch just like I did with FS9. I was under the impression that the reload function was fixed !!!
