• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Jet Engines and FS

Hi,

I'm having an intriguing problem. At MGW, my aircraft apparently does not have enough power to accelerate beyond Mach 1.40. This is curious as the real thing can do it - on a single engine. :(

Table 411 is set to zero in this phase of flight (it seems to be working that each X value is in steps Mach 0.2). All the other Mach Drag tables are set to zero, as they apparently have no impact.

The aircrafts zero lift drag coefficient is set to 44 in the .air file, and I can't see anywhere else where any drag values might be set.

If I set the zero lift drag coefficient to zero, the aircraft behaves like there is no drag.

I've had lots of :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: and still can't figure it out.

Does anyone have any experience of this, or am I in an unknown part of the FS flight envelope?

Light, the aircraft seems to fly as it should, and seems over-powered with it.

Skin friction coefficient is set to zero also.

I'm rather intrigued as other phases of flight are OK, so if I increase power here, it will be massively over powered.

Another question is, as the aircraft climbs in FS, does the amount of thrust being generated decrease? What is FS actually doing?

Best regards,
Robin.
