• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Just a quick Question

I have been reading the threads on this site.. and there are very impressive to say the least, some of which I cant even begin to understand!

I have been trying since I bought FSX to add AI aircraft and actually get them to go somewhere, modify airports, etc. etc. So I finally got the AI aircraft to show up at the airport, they wont go anywhere when the schedule I created (MyTrafficX) tells them to, but at least they are parked.

Im using KGYY (gary/chicago), why? because by default and in real world this airport is used primarily for general aviation, and not too many of those! So what better place to make a headquarters.

My problem with GYY is all the parking spaces are "RAMP", there isnt a terminal or "GATE(s)." Also the size of the parking spaces are too small for my EMB170's.

Now on to the quick question :p .
Is there a way for me to edit a default airport (parking spaces, sizes, designations, types, etc) and construct buildings (terminals, jetbridges, etc) WITHOUT having FSX Deluxe? I have the standard version and all references to these "wonderful programs" at some point requires FSX Deluxe's SDK.

I have AFCAD but that really dont work with FSX does it? I cant load existing FSX airports into that program, which is one of the purposes of the program.. just not for the FSX platform. Sooooo I downloaded FS Planner? from this site.. Well its still in Beta testing and it doesnt load existing airports either at least not in the beta version I downloaded a couple days ago. What is a guy to do? I just want to edit the parking spaces, add buildings, more planes and be done with it.. without having to go buy the Deluxe version just to get this seemingly "top secret" SDK. You can get everything else you want FS related on the net.. but try to find a stand alone copy of the SDK.. no dice.

I would really like to end this design frenzy and actally fly my planes and see the AI I have created actually go somewhere.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated. And break it down to me like im a 2 year old please.

Thanks Again

You need the deluxe version of FSX to use the scenery design tools.

Seanpaul,

The quick answer is you do need the deluxe version to get the SDK for Flight Simulator X. I know of no other way around that. I just checked and here in the states it can be had for around $50.00. Sorry:(

Yeah I was afraid of that. I was so quick to go buy FSX when it came out.. I had been counting down to the release date! And I went for the cheaper version.. who knew all this other stuff was going to become available for use.. ONLY with the deluxe version.

Ok.. so then i'll have 2 copies of FSX.. Maybe i'll sell the standard version on ebay or something.

Thanks

When I get the deluxe version.. ill be back cause I will no doubt have MANY, MANY more questions :)

Thanks again!
