• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

An idea just occured to me:

If one was to make a "plumping" taxi net for an airport, would it be too difficult to enable a color change for the individual taxi-link? Not for Apron-link as a general for instance but for the individual link from node to node?

That way one could use one's own colorsetting for either "taxi out" or "taxi in" and thus make the different routings more visual.

As it is now you can "only" see the various types of links, apron, rwy, etc. due to their individual coloring.

As I said, just an idea.

Well it would be possible, but at the moment ADE only saves the data that is used in a Bgl file or an Xml file and neither of these contain information about color. What would be possible would be to set a color by taxiway name. That is stored in the Bgl file so could be persisted between sessions.
 
That might actually be a good idea then? :-)

Well applying to the name would be a good solution, and if you do the laborious work of plumping a bigger airport, I'm sure you want to name the taxiways as well.

Yes you could say that. My use would be to quickly identify "TO-RWY-links" from "FROM-RWY-links" in a plumping situation. And apparently the color setting could be save along with the taxi link name.
 
I strongly support the feature that AFCD had (to highlight all taxi way segments with a certain name). This way you could easily check that you have been thorough and that you naming logic makes sense.

But aside from such a temporary highlight ability I would still want to see a taxi way always in the same color. This way you get used to a standard and will be able to understand every ADE file at a glance without having to figure out color logics.
