• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Landclass and what they look like

Hi,

I'm having problems finding the right landclass. The name sounds right, but most of the ones I've looked at are washed out (dried grass). I need verdant and green grass!

It there a viewer I can use to look at what a particular landclass looks like without creating a poly of that class, compiling it and viewing it in FS.

It takes 5 mins at a time. Somewhat slow designing :)

This is autumn season in FSX. Most of the grass textures you see will be brown or tan this time of year.

Seems like someone (maybe Luis F. Tirado?) had a viewing of all landclass textures, but I'm afraid I don't know where that is, or if it does exist.

I think to get nice green grass in autumn you are better off creating a seasons.bgl file, or altering the base textures themselves. Most of the grass textures turn brown if you set your FSX season to September/October/Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb.

Ahh OK. Maybe that is why the landclass as I add them are of dried grass.

This is Ireland. It's green al the time. Especally as there has been so much rain.

Thanks for the info. I shal check the season in my FSX.

Hi,

Live here is Belgium and the climate is here nearly the same as in Ireland... Therefore I installed Adam Mills' "European ground textures for FSX" (at www.AVSIM.com and search for Adam Mills). There are in total 8 large downloads available for Europe.
I have now fresh looking green grass + seasonal textures too, but no brown grass or so.
You can make a backup of the textures before installing the new ones and see if that's sufficient.

Greetz. José.
