• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Landclass island showing as desert

Ok, I am getting the hang on the island thing. However in my current project I have several islands (4) and severals little islands.

The order of my polygons is fine: Exclude, Ocean Fill, Polygon hole, Landfill. Then when creating beaches I make sure that the forest and beaches do not overlap each other, they are separate polygons.

I see the following two problems:

1. In one of the major islands I tagged most of its surface with the Landclass_EVERGREEN_TREE_CROP (new in v1.10 I think) but when I fly above it I notice that the northern part, even though it has no beach polygons it is shows as some desertic sand bank. Why can't an evergreen tree crop be just that, green tree crop without empty sand spaces?

2. On all of my small islands I have them as PolygonHole and then in a separate folder that groups all these little islands I have defined inner polygons tagged with things that are either LandClass_GRASS or LandClass_DECIDUOUS_TREE_CROP however all of them show up as if there had been no terrain defined for them. They show as land allright but my landclass (green) is just not there, it is as if they were mere sandbanks.

Anybody has any explanations for that?

30 Aug 2007 Still no answer and no solution...

In case somebody wonders, this issue has not been addressed nor solved by anybody.

Some of the little islets show as sand banks and one of the bigger islands (populated has these problems:

1. The polygon marked as small suburb no-grid town shows as scrubs of vegetation

2. Half of the island shows as sandy desert with some shrubs. I split the whole forest of the island in two hoping that the 2nd half being a polygon apart would "reset" the rendering and show as forest (like I tagged it) but yet it continues to show as desert sand with ocassional gree shrubs.
