• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX landscape is different

Friend of mine and I working on some swcenery. He has Accel. I have sp2a. (I don't know if that will make a diff).

I made some "bridges" of lights to stretch across a small valley. Double road at bottom of valley. With SbuilderX I modified the sides of the valley()ravene) or whatever we want to call it, so the hillsides are more rounded and the road in the bottom does not run up one side and back down.

This ended up looking very nice. I send the cvx file to my friend. He ends up see the hillsides far different than what I am seeing.

We tried to match our sliders for terrain mesh and such. No change or very little change. Why do we see things differently? Bob

Hi Bob,

Different settings and different sceneries installed would be my first thoughts for such problems.

My thoughts as well, but can't figure out what. We are matched up with all files for this scenery. The only difference is he has accel, I do not. Well, if I stumble across anything I'll post. Bob

Hi,

No other addon sceneries installed in the region?

We both have one fiarly close by but The things I changed do not come anywhere close to this one. However, HE might have something I don't know of. Good point. Will ask him. Bob

To any and all who posted here or read this............

The problem seems to lie in some terrain difference between FSX and FSX Acceleration. I just bought Accel. I now see what my friend sees.....EXACTLY!!!! Bob
