• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Latest scenPROC update seems to cause TFE crashes

Version 3.2 r60c3086b DEV 6/16/2024. Had two crashes in the last 5 minutes when adding points and then saving. Problem is the whole app just closes. No error message or anything I can report :( and I lose all unsaved data points. Not sure if there is something you can check or if I should simply revert back to the previous version?

Just did it again for the 3rd time so I am moving back a version.

I didn't change a lot in scenproc recently, so not sure what would cause this. Did you have the svm step selected while adding the new sample points or another one?

To answer your question, yes, I use the SVM step but if you mean did I have it actually selected as I added steps and saved (the crash happens during the saving process from what I can see), I do not believe so. I think I always have the Output Image step highlighted as I am waiting to see the results after processing/saving a few points.

Unhandled exception: This was with version 6/1/2024.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

That crash has nothing to do with saving or sample points, it's about the scrollbar in the editor. Did you have the split screen enabled or not?

I'll try to reproduce it. Recently I have been working in the texture filter editor a lot, testing the water detection. I have not seen crashes often, but I guess I use the split view less frequent.

I would suggest using the split screen, select 10-20 samples and select a lot of sample points, I mean A LOT!, ha! Give it a stress test. I 'm sure I give dozens of sample points for just one sample image to try and tell it where to put the water and where not to. After a process I will see lot's of water in shadows so I add more points to try and negate them. Maybe I am overwhelming it :)
