• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi all

I'm new user to build airport scenery or add objects in the airport...

In the scenery director of fsX there are many subdirectory with many bgl files...

how can I load the right scenery area of the airport of my interest...for example Rome - LIRF or Chicago o'hare - KORD, to convert them in xml format and load them with FSXPlanner...and work it to add objects, ILS, Jetway etc, etc,?

thanks

I think there is a function in FSX Planner to search for the file related to a specific airport.

Alternatively you could use the Scenery Design Engine Test App. That has an Airport Scanner in it that will allow you to find an airport by ICAO or by searching through a tree and then load that airport. You can then save the XML if you wish and use it in another tool.

thanks for you replay...

Where can I found Scenery Design Engine Test App?

...

http://www.scruffyduckscenery.co.uk and followthe link to Scenery Design Engine.

When you get it and install it run Help>Check for Updates to get any updates to the application and engine. Be aware that this is a test application for the engine and as such is not very user friendly :) However if you just want to extract some airports and save them to Xml it should be easy enough to do. There is a support forum here for the Scenery Design Engine

You can download FSX Planner here: http://www.zbluesoftware.com/clients/FSXPlanner.zip

After unzipping, double click on the FSXPlanner.jar file to run it.

The find an airport option is located under the file menu.

Just type in the ICAO code of the airport you are looking for and FSX Planner will tell you the folder and bgl file that it is located in.
