FS2004 LOD question

Hello guys
I would apply the LOD tecnique to my model but is not clear what should I do.
I exported, keeping source files, my three models. In this way I have the first xxx.asm files and xxx_0.asm, xxx_1.asm, xxx_2.asm.

The tutorial say to hack the main wrapper file, but in my case which one should be? the xxx.asm?

thanks!

Hi,

Is this for FS2004? In that case you should be able to define the LOD from within GMax by using the proper part names. In that case editing ASM files would not be needed.

So what are you trying to tweak in the ASM file then? When using the FS2004 gamepack that should not be needed. Maybe if you try to explain in more detail what you are doing I can help.

Hi Arno,
thanks for reply. Currently I'm using SDK2002 as the objects I'm trying to apply the LOD on are the curved taxiways made with loft obj. Since I would reduce the details to save FPS I thought to apply the LOD.
I would export three different models of taxiway, each with less detail of the previous. What I thought was to keep .asm files of each models, than create a wrapper asm file that includes the models.
Is this the correct procedure?

Hi,

I guess that could work, you could try to take one of the main ASM files and add the includes for the two news LODs. Around these includes you would then put the conditions to switch between them.
