• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

airport data
49.62
6.20

working area grid data

49.37
6.12

The airport data tab isn t showing the correct LAT and LONG the grid in the working area is !
The airport is showing up at the right place also in FSX.

How to fix this "bug" as it won t allow me to add a ground image (out of airport range error )

PS: any keyboard shortcuts that switches between arrow and scroll ?

Can you post the xml for the airport?

There are currently no keyboard shortcuts to change between the default pointer and the scroll tool. However, if you have a mouse with a scrool wheel, then you can use the scroll wheel to zoom and move the airport. To zoom, just move the scoll wheel up or down. To move around the airport, press and hold the scroll wheel down while you drag the mouse around.

I'm not sure what the problem is. The airport reference point is
49.62
6.20

and if I put the mouse over the ARP in the display that is the location.

What do you mean by working area grid data?

And what are these coordinates for?
49.37
6.12

ELLXFSXPlanner.jpg

The Airport data left side and top right side shows 49.6233334020 (wrong data )

left side in the working area the grid shows 49.3720 and that s the correct data (underlined in the pic )

the ARP (mouse pointer data in the working area) is the same wrong airport data

so in fact FSX Planner is working with 49.62 though it puts it to the correct 49.37 in FSX.

(hard to put a BG image with 25 degrees difference )

awe

PS:in FSX the airport is at the correct spot.

I'm sorry but I still don't understand where you are getting these numbers from.

The XML code for your airport is as follows:
<Airport
country="Luxembourg"
city="Luxembourg"
name="Luxembourg"
lat="49.62333340197802"
lon="6.20444431900978"
alt="376.12M"
magvar="1.0"
ident="ELLX"
trafficScalar="0.7"
airportTestRadius="5000.0M">

The lat/lon that FSX Planner is displaying is correct based on the XML file.

As the picture doesn't show the entire properties window I can't see what is selected. Can you post a picture of the entire screen?

Ah, I think I might have an idea here.

The airport reference point is at 49.6233334020, which if you convert it to degrees, minutes and seconds is 49 degrees 37 minutes 24 seconds N. This is not the same as 49.3720. What is displayed in your picture is not 49.3720, but 49 degrees, 37 minutes and 20 seconds, which is 49.622222 degrees.

I would suggest that you make all coordinate displays use the same format. This can be set in the Display tab of the Preferences dialog.
